Auction Inn has a unique partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster that fosters community development and supports area youth. Our job-training program provides marketable job skills for Club members such as digital photography and automobile condition report writing. Manheim Auto Auction has joined Auction Inn to develop the job skills training program and make trainees more employable upon completion.

"We have seen tremendous value in the mission of Auction Inn," said Ronald St. Denis, Director of Online Operations for Manheim Auto Auction. "The skills we will be teaching these young adults are hard to find in today’s marketplace, and we are thrilled to be able to work with them and possibly hire some of their graduates.”

A Story of Success...

Manheim Auto Auction (MAA) has hired Luis Pizarro, a graduate of the WORK-ABLE™ Job Skills Training Program. Luis graduated from the training program in 2004 and was hired by Auction Inn to gain valuable employment experience. While employed at Auction Inn, Luis continued to learn and was selected to attend training in completing condition reports at MAA. Luis has maintained a strong interest in the automotive industry and welcomed the opportunity to work with Ray Sciarappa, General Manager of Auction Inn Motors as he continued to fine-tune his skills.

MAA is a corporate partner of Auction Inn’s WORK-ABLE™ Job Skills Training Program and has assisted WORK-ABLE™ Director, Shirley Mertz, in completing the curriculum used to introduce the trainees to opportunities in the world of work including automotive condition reporting.

When a position at MAA opened up recently, Luis applied and interviewed for the position and was selected. He will start at MAA in mid-June.
